An initiative to empower students of government school in Rajasthan
Our team has initiated a project to empower students of a government school in Rajasthan by collaborating with other organizations to benefit the underserved children in the area. The primary goal of this project is to ensure sustainable development in the region, specifically in the areas of clean water, sanitation, nutrition, and energy.
To better understand the challenges faced by the students and the community, we prepared different questionnaires and engaged with all stakeholders involved. Through this process, we learned that electricity was a significant issue both at the school and in most of the children's homes, with many students having to do their homework after completing their household chores in the evening with only one lamp.
As part of our ideation and brainstorming, we came up with the idea of installing solar panels to help the students and their families generate their own energy. We wanted to take this a step further by teaching the students how to assemble their own solar lamps so that they could develop a useful skill that they could use to benefit their community in the future.

To implement this idea, we collaborated with an external organization called Durga Energy, which provided the necessary training and materials for free. On the day of the workshop, Rukmini Devi, the CEO of Durga Energy, came to the school to teach the students how to assemble their own solar lamps. The children were surprised and inspired to see someone from their own community leading the training session.
Overall, we believe that this project has the potential to benefit not only the students but also the wider community by promoting sustainable development practices and developing valuable skills that can be used to solve local challenges.

Design for Impact with Durga Energy showcases the power of collaboration to bring sustainable solutions to underserved communities. By engaging with all stakeholders, the school was able to understand the challenges and identify areas where they could make a difference. The school's efforts have not only improved the lives of the students but also empowered the community to work towards a better future.

Designing a brighter tomorrow with Dream A Dream!
Design has always played a crucial role in shaping our world. From the products we use to the spaces we inhabit, design influences our daily lives in countless ways. As the world becomes increasingly complex, there is a growing need for designers who can create solutions that address the challenges we face. At the heart of this need is the concept of Design For Impact – creating designs that have a positive impact on people, the environment, and society.
In collaboration with Dream a Dream, an organization that empowers young people from vulnerable backgrounds, we conducted a 3D workshop aimed at upskilling the students and introducing them to the world of design. Over the course of five days, we taught the students how to use Tinkercad, a web-based 3D design software that is accessible to everyone.
Initially, many of the students were not familiar with 3D design and 3D printing. However, as the workshop progressed, they quickly grasped the software and began designing a range of objects. They were curious and eager to learn more about 3D printing and its possibilities.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the 3D printing competition. The students competed to create the best design, and the winning model was printed in 3D for real. The competition motivated the students and pushed them to explore their creativity and design skills.
By teaching them how to use a powerful design tool and inspiring them to think creatively, we were able to equip them with valuable skills that they can use to create positive change in their communities. The students left the workshop with a newfound appreciation for the power of design and its potential to make a difference in the world.
